What transportation services do you provide?

MEDIX services ambulatory patient, wheelchair patients, and patients who require gurney/stretcher transport.

Why choose MEDIX?

MEDIX was founded by experienced Registered Nurses with a combined total of 25+ years of nursing experience, so we understand how vital compassionate, safe, and responsive care is to a patient’s well-being.

What are your hours of operation?

Our regular office hours are M-F: 8am to 5pm. However, we accommodate after hours (M-F: 5pm to 8am) trip requests, weekend trip requests, and holiday trip requests, meaning we are able to service your transportation needs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with advance notice and based on availability. What are your holiday hours?

We are open every holiday. We will fulfill trips based on availability. If you need holiday transportation, we recommend advance reservation due to limited availability. Call us to check availability.

What areas do you service?

We service all of Los Angeles County and surrounding areas. We service all California and beyond for our long-distance transportation service.

General

Are there patients MEDIX will not transport?

A. Yes. We do not transport patient that are intubated, patients with active IV’s, or patients that are having an emergency.

B. We can transport patients with capped IVs, and patient using oxygen.

Can a Caregiver/Nurse/Family/Friend) ride along with a client?

A. Yes, we welcome ride along. We are able to accommodate 1 companion at no additional charge

Will you wait until an appointment is finished to take patient back?

A. Yes, we can arrange a “wait and return” trip or we can arrange a “will-call/scheduled return” trip.

B. A “wait and return” has a supplemental wait time fee.

Can you explain your door thru door service?

The Medix team will pick you up from inside your home (per request) and drop you off inside the building you are going to. We ensure that our patients are properly endorsed at their destination.

Can MEDIX do Airport pick up?

A. Yes, we service all LA county Airports. LAX-Los Angeles International Airport, Hollywood Burbank Airport, Ontario International Airport, Long Beach Airport.

Scheduling and Cancellations

How do I request transportation?

To schedule a trip, call us at 661-502-6852 to connect with a team member who will be very happy to help you, or schedule online at medixtransportation.com.

Can Medix fulfill same day transportation?

We prefer a 24-48hour notice, but we make every attempt to provide same day transportation requests, and can usually accommodate last minute transportation request after complete trip information has been received and confirmed. Call us for availability.

Does Medix Transportation provide long distance transportation like Out-of-State transport?

Yes, Medix transportation can provide long distance transportation. We request a minimum 48-hour notice. For more information about availability and rates, call our scheduling department.

How far in advance can/should a trip be scheduled?

Trips can be scheduled up to a year in advance.

What is your cancellation policy?

  1. To cancel a scheduled trip, we require a minimum 24-hour notice from time of scheduled pick-up time. We are happy to reschedule any cancelled appointments.
  2. 24 hrs. notice: 0% cancellation fee
  3. 2-23 hrs. notice: 25%
  4. Less than 2 hours or at the door*: No refund;
  5. No cancel call: No refund

Billing and Payment

Pricing:

Our price is based on a flat pick-up fee plus a fee per mile.  To receive a detailed price quote, please call us at 661-502-6852.

What forms of payments do you accept?

  1. Private pay: pay out of pocket for your medical transportation. 
    1. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.
  2. Insurance: your trip could be covered by your insurance, please check with your insurance provider for eligibility and pre-authorization approval.
